Already two of my NT "bankers" have been wiped away by developments since the last time I recorded them.
In Dalgety Bay, there has been a lot of work in removing radioactive particles from the beach, which means they are building a new slipway etc. around the sailing club. This means it is now going to be tidy/sterile - at least for a while. Hairy Sedge ought to be findable elsewhere, and is recorded elsewhere, in NT18 but now I have to find it again - bugger. At the moment I have to consider it extinct in Dalgety Bay. Yikes!
Hairy sedge no more |
Yesterday a surprisingly nice trip to Inverkeithing (more later) also showed that the re-opening of Cruicks quarry has pretty much scraped all my reliable Viper's-bugloss off the face of the earth. That, too, is a species I ought to be able to find elsewhere, though in my recollection I haven't previously.
