Staphylinus erythropterus, Charles Hill, Dalgety Bay

Amongst moss on an old building foundation at Charles Hill three of these Staphylinus erythropterus were running around

Atrecus affinis - rotten wood rove beetle

A staph from rotten Betula. A small piece of log taken home contained (at least) 4 more specimens, (the first found by SM in the field).

Stenus impressus, Dalgety Bay, 26/02/20

A male from same tussocking session a couple of days ago. Quite pale at the knees, this one.

Tasgius melanarius from Calais Muir Wood

A nice rove beetle from rotten birch wood.
